The Help to Grow: Management Course has announced that it is partnering with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) to offer 6 months’ free membership to every member of its Alumni Network. Small business leaders completing the government-funded leadership course continue to build on the knowledge and skills acquired in the programme through its Alumni Network. Today, at the Alumni Network launch at BAFTA’s headquarters in London, the Help to Grow: Management Course invited other organisations from across the UK to partner with it to offer further benefits to its community of business leaders.
Launched in 2021, the Help to Grow: Management Course is now delivered at more than 50 Small Business Charter accredited business schools across the UK. Members of the Alumni Network benefit from a range of benefits including access to local, regional and national events and continuous professional development (CPD) content.
Michael Hayman MBE, Chair of the Small Business Charter, said “A successful SME sector in the UK is critical to the growth of our economy. The Help to Grow: Management Course is enabling SME leaders in every sector and region across the UK to design and lead businesses that will not only survive, but thrive at a time when economic conditions continue to be challenging. We welcome this partnership with the CMI and look forward to working with a wide range of organisations to deliver an exciting and valuable membership proposition for the Help to Grow: Management Alumni Network.”
The upcoming partnership agreement with the CMI will see members benefit from free access to CMI’s online platform, management and leadership resources. Over the course of the free membership, CMI is also offering a discounted rate to Alumni Network members who want to complete the Chartered Manager assessment.
Ann Francke OBE, Chief Executive Officer, CMI said “CMI’s commitment to better led and managed organisations makes it a natural partner for the Help to Grow: Management Alumni Network. Our research shows that firms who deliver on a strong commitment to management and leadership training deliver better results, both for their organisation and their people. For the UK's 5.8 million small businesses - 99% of all private sector companies - the chance to access CMI's wealth of tools and resources, and to build on what they've accomplished through Help to Grow will deliver not just economic growth, but also help create more diverse, balanced and inclusive workplaces.”
