Vacancy for Chair of the Small Business Charter Management Board

The Small Business Charter (SBC) is at an exciting juncture. With a growing number of business schools being awarded the Small Business Charter and significant Government funding for programmes run by the SBC schools, we are looking to grow to provide support for more SMEs. As our current Chair, Michelle Ovens MBE, comes to the end of her term we are looking for a new Chair to lead the Management Board and set the strategy for what we do. The core objective of the SBC is to create sustainable and scalable SME growth through business and management education and research, with a positive impact on local economies.

What we are looking for in a Chair

We are looking for someone with experience of leading a small business and preferably also with knowledge of the role of higher education, in particular of business schools, in working with businesses. You will have Board experience, and will bring enthusiasm and influence to support our work.

Diversity is important to us and we welcome applicants from a broad spectrum.

Please note: the Chair must be independent of any member of the Chartered Association of Business Schools. A list of members can be found here.
