This year, the Small Business Charter has seen several new business schools achieve the Charter for the first time, as well as the successful reaccreditation of dozens more.

As we celebrate these important milestones, we wanted to take this opportunity to provide a checklist of all the different ways you can promote your Small Business Charter accreditation status.

  1. Display your Small Business Charter certificate somewhere prominent – place it where many people will see it, such as a reception area or shared workspace. You could even turn the logo into a plaque to enhance visibility.

  2. Incorporate the Small Business Charter (SBC) logo in your marketing materials – you’ve earned the right to use the logo, so be sure to use it in all your school’s physical marketing materials, such as roller banners and brochures, and your digital assets like your email templates. Brand guidelines are available on request.

  3. Don’t forget your website – your shop window to SMEs and stakeholders is the place to publicise your independently recognised contribution to SME growth; add the SBC logo to your website.

  4. Take advantage of the SBC website too – the business school directory is one of the most visited pages on SBC’s website, so keep your school’s listing up to date to help potential business owners know how to find you.  Simply contact us and advise us of any changes.

  5. Create a news story for your website – this is the perfect opportunity to explain more about the Small Business Charter and the benefits it brings to your business school community.

  6. Turn the story into a press opportunity - celebrate your accreditation by letting local businesses and other leading figures in the community know about your accredited status. Our communications team can provide background information and statements for your press releases.

  7. Share it on your socials – and don’t forget to tag the Small Business Charter in on LinkedIn and other platforms, so we can amplify your story.

  8. Spread the word every day – include the SBC logo and link in your email signatures

  9. Create an SBC talking point in presentations – add the logo to your deck to let people know about what SBC accreditation means to your audiences.

  10. Write articles for the SBC website – we welcome blogs and posts that demonstrate your expertise. Our member schools learn from one another through the Knowledge Sharing section. While SME businesses gain knowledge from articles in the Insights section, both of which are promoted via our newsletters and social media channels.

  11. Demonstrate your impact with SBC’s latest report - Empowering Small Business Success: The Gateway to Knowledge, Innovation and Growth highlights how SBC-accredited business schools are a gateway to enduring entrepreneurial support.

  12. Link to SBC – we're here to endorse your SBC accreditation and to help promote the incredible work going on to support small to medium-sized businesses across the UK and Ireland, so please link to SBC’s website wherever possible: smallbusinesscharter.org

  13. Enter the SBC Excellence Awards – this is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your work and the impact you have on your local and regional economies. Look out for the launch of the 2026 awards soon.

We hope this list provides some new ideas to promote your SBC status.

And here’s a final thought:
