We are delighted to announce the appointment of two new members to the Small Business Charter Management Board.

Joining the Board is Professor Lynn Oxborrow, Professor in Sustainable Small Business Growth at Nottingham Business School (NBS). Lynn’s role involves leading on NBS projects that support small businesses in a range of contexts. Lynn is also a Programme Director for Help to Grow: Management at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) and has been involved in developing the course materials for the entire programme.

Lynn’s portfolio also includes overseeing NTU’s contribution to Create Growth Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, one of 12 UK region’s awarded funding from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to support growing creative and digital industry organisations to innovate and grow.

Professor Oxborrow’s interest in supporting SMEs stems from her early career in fashion retail and career-long research interest in the fashion industry supply chain and industry clusters. More recently this has also led to enquiry into sustainable fashion supply chains and the role of SMEs in the supply chain.

We also welcome Vincent Traynor, Associate Professor of Change Leadership at Sheffield Business School, where he leads the Made Smarter programme and other executive education initiatives. He is also a Help to Grow: Management facilitator and has led 7 cohorts of SME leaders through the programme. Vincent plays a leading role with the national Help to Grow Management programme, developing curriculum and mental health resources and leading on training for business school staff.  He holds EMCC Global accreditation as a Master Practitioner Executive Coach and a Global Coach Supervisor (ESIA).

We are proud to welcome Professor Vincent Traynor and Professor Lynn Oxborrow to the SBC Board as we continue our mission to empower small businesses through business school collaboration and excellence.

The Small Business Charter now accredits 68 business schools across the UK and Ireland, each with a track record of partnering with local stakeholders and national government to deliver high-impact growth programmes which empower small business success and economic growth.
