The Small Business Charter is delighted to announce the appointment of Alexandra Charles as its new Vice Chair.

Alexandra brings over three decades’ experience in Higher Education and leadership to the role. In 2016, she joined the University of Derby as Head of Derby Management School and is now College Head of Executive Education and Enterprise Development. Her leadership has been pivotal in securing key accreditations, including EFMD Programme Accreditation, PRME, and the CABS Small Business Charter, positioning the school as a leader in education and business excellence.

As a respected leader in executive education and a Chartered Accountant, Alexandra will play a key role in supporting the Small Business Charter’s mission to empower small business success through its network of expert business schools.

This appointment comes as the Small Business Charter celebrates its 10th anniversary and its record of providing real-world support and training that supports small businesses and economic growth.

Michael Hayman MBE, Chair of the Small Business Charter, welcomed Alexandra’s appointment, saying:

The Small Business Charter now accredits 67 business schools across the UK and Ireland, each with a track record of partnering with local stakeholders and national government to deliver high-impact growth programmes which empower small business success and economic growth.
