As of 2 February 2023, the Help to Grow: Digital scheme has concluded. Those who successfully applied for this scheme before the closing date, have 30 days from their issue date to use any discounts.
The scheme was proposed to help 100,000 small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) use technology to further their business. This was done by offering vouchers worth up to £5,000 that would cover 50% of the cost of pre-approved technology. There was also the potential for free advice about the adoption of technologies.
As a result of a lack of uptake amongst SMEs, the UK government selected to end the scheme. However, the government is continuing to support small businesses through the likes of the Help to Grow: Management Course. The course enables small business leaders to learn how to develop their organisation and leadership with experts and peers.
The Help to Grow: Management Course is 90% subsidised by the government, with attendees expected to cover 10% of the cost. The course is designed to build productivity in small businesses and enable leaders to thrive. You can find out more about the course here.
Additionally, small businesses have access to British Business Bank’s Start Up Loans and the Energy Relief Bill scheme. The Energy Relief Scheme intends to reduce the costs that people face after electricity and gas price increases.
In the Autumn Statement, the Chancellor also announced a package of changes and tax cuts worth £13.6 billion over the next five years. The package plans to increase relief for high street businesses going forward.
