The University of Leicester School of Business has launched a new podcast series, Social Entrepreneurs, shedding light on the realities, challenges, and opportunities facing social enterprises across Leicester’s Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector.

Hosted by Tobias Gould, Business Innovation Fellow at the University of Leicester School of Business and Director at Community Enterprise Engine, each episode pairs local social entrepreneurs with academic experts to explore themes of growth, purpose, and resilience in the sector.

From funding challenges and scaling up, to staying true to mission while innovating, the podcast is a practical resource for those leading social enterprises, CICs and charities.

Episode 1: Strategy – Why do social entrepreneurs need to be good at strategy?

Tobias speaks with Gareth James, Chief Executive of LAMP (Leicester Action for Mental Health Project), and Professor Mat Hughes, Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, about how strategic thinking underpins success in purpose-led ventures.
