Gin and Topic Talk: Lee Circle Car Park Re-imagined by Dr Fabian Frenzel

Multi-story car parks in city centres are curious spaces. Necessary to manage mobility patterns based on private car ownership, they belong, alongside dual carriage ways and flyovers, to post-war visions of modernity. Against the backdrop of concerns with air quality, contemporary visions of urbanity often aim to make the multi-story car park obsolete, by encouraging bikes schemes, uber and public transport. But are we really facing the end of the multi-storey car park area? This talk invites you to re-image one of Leicester’s most iconic buildings as an urban garden.
