The University of Stirling Management School (SMS) was formally established in 2008 and is one of five faculties forming the University of Stirling. The University was founded in 1967 and has built a reputation as a distinctive international university with a global reputation for high quality teaching with a purpose and interdisciplinary research that makes a difference to society.
Stirling Management School prides itself on delivering innovative scholarship and widespread engagement with a variety of stakeholders to improve and transform business, society and lives. With a focus on responsible and sustainable business practice, the School’s ethos mirrors the ambitions and values of the University and recognises that effective management can make a positive and lasting difference.
Stirling Management School is Small Business Charter accredited recognising the importance and value we place on developing links with business and industry to inform and support our teaching, research and knowledge exchange activities. We work with our Business Advisory Board in shaping our education and business engagement strategy, and continuously engage with organisations across all sectors to help them achieve their goals and ensure that our students and graduates have access to opportunities that will enhance their skills, confidence and achievements.

The School is also home to the Centre for Advanced Management Education (CAME), dedicated to the development and delivery of post-experience management and executive education including the flagship AMBA-accredited Stirling MBA and MSc Business & Management as well as bespoke in-house executive development programmes tailored to meet the needs of the business community.
Stirling Management School was ranked top 25 for Business and Management in the last REF, and 14th for impact of its research. We were ranked 3rd in Scotland for Economics by the Guardian 2016 and 2nd in Scotland for Marketing by the Complete University Guide 2016. We are in an elite group of business schools globally—and one of only 14 in the UK— with accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) for both our MBA and MSc Business and Management (MBM) degrees. Many of our courses hold internationally recognised industry accreditations: the Chartered Institute of Marketing; CFA Program Partner status for our MSc Investment Analysis course and ACCA, CIPFA, ICAS , CIMA and the Chartered Banker Institute for courses in our Accounting, Finance and Banking portfolio.
The International Student Barometer survey (2016) ranked Stirling first in Scotland for welcoming international students and the Management School has a truly international outlook with undergraduate and postgraduate students from over 120 countries on campus and a growing number of students now studying our degrees in collaboration with partners in Singapore, Muscat and Hong Kong.
