Join the SBC roundtable events at the Party Conferences

The Small Business Charter in partnership with the Association of Business Schools and Federation of Small Businesses, is holding a series of roundtable discussions and debates at each party conference this autumn. The events will explore how business schools support small businesses and local economic growth; what more they can do to work more closely with businesses; and what employers want from a local business school.

In doing so the SBC will seek to gain support for the three manifesto pledges it wants an incoming government to adopt in order to maximise the contribution business schools have on the economy:

  • Recognition of business and management education in STEM
  • Continued government support for initiatives which further enable business schools to support local economies grow, such as the Small Business Charter
  • Removal of international students from immigration targets

In a roundtable format, each event will hear introductions and provocations from a senior policy-maker and a representative from the SBC. Trailblazing business schools and representatives from small business will then be invited to respond before opening the discussion up to the table and other guests.
