Eligibility has increased for the Help to Grow: Management Course

The Help to Grow: Management Course is being well-received amongst small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), but previously only one leader from a business had the opportunity to attend.

Two leaders from an SME with 10 or more employees can now join the course. In addition, those who previously attended the Small Business Leadership Programme (SBLP) will be able to sign up for Help to Grow: Management.

Paul Scully, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, shared his excitement about the news: ‘Again and again, business leaders are telling us how much they are benefiting from the Help to Grow: Management scheme both personally, and in the results they see in their companies and from their staff.

‘By expanding the scheme even further, more and more people will benefit from what Help to Grow: Management has to offer – including within the same business – and more organisations can thrive and grow.’

What is the Help to Grow: Management Course?

The Help to Grow: Management Course takes participants through 12 modules that are specifically designed by small business experts at business schools to help SMEs  develop. It is available across more than 50 locations in the UK and includes 10 hours of peer networking as well as a mentoring scheme that enables the sharing of ideas and support.

Tom Henderson, Managing Director of Earlswood Construction Ltd and Help to Grow: Management alumni, discussed the value of this support: ‘Often in business, it feels like there's no one else out there that can help, but it’s good to know that people are going through the same exact thing as you are. It's really invaluable  to have that support. I'd recommend the course.’

The programme is 90% funded by the government and the combination of the benefits it has delivered for organisations alongside its value for money has led to a positive reception in the SME community.

The Help to Grow: Management Course is available to any business operating for a year or more, in any sector other than charity, that employs between 5 and 249 people. Participants must be decision-makers who are prepared to complete every session.
