Call for applications to be on the Small Business Charter Management Board
We are inviting applications from leaders of small business community/entrepreneurs to join the Small Business Charter Management Board.
The SBC (Small Business Charter) is a part of the Chartered Association of Business Schools and encourages business schools to work with and support SMEs and start-ups, including student start-ups. The award is earned by schools which have been assessed as being able to evidence their impact in the support they give. There is a rigorous assessment process which involves observation and analysis by members of small business representatives.
This is an exciting time for the SBC as we work with governments to drive up productivity and deliver the industrial strategy in the regions of the UK.
The SBC is governed by a Management Board which consists of entrepreneurs and small business leaders as well as business school academics and includes representatives for the Westminster and Welsh parliaments. The Management Board is chaired by Michelle Ovens MBE and the Lord Young of Graffham is the patron. The membership of the Management Board can be viewed here.
The Management Board meets four times a year to discuss strategy and to scrutinize the work of the SBC and those schools applying for the award. Meetings are held in London. Membership of the Board is for three years and as part of the rolling replacement of members we are now looking for an entrepreneur/small business representative to join the Board.
