SBC school Professor highlights the critical role of business schools in sustaining economic growth

Last week, Professor Dylan Jones Evans delivered a speech at the University of the West of England (UWE) on the topic of entrepreneurial universities. In particular, he highlighted the report by Lord Young, called “Make Business Your Business” which proposed the establishment of a Small Business Charter to ensure that business schools played a far bigger role in supporting SMEs locally.

Last month, UWE became the only University in the South West of England to be awarded the Small Business Charter by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills at an event at 10 Downing Street. As a result of this development, Professor Dylan Jones Evans has come up with a robust strategy  to develop this agenda within UWE over the next twelve months to ensure that entrepreneurship is boosted not only within the business school but across all of the university's faculties…[click here to read more]
